thanks everyone..this weekend let me try again. I know I followed exactly what the AVR manual said and I did google to find out a solution. This was some 2-3 years ago.
Now I have ordered the Pioneer FS52 and hence interest in my HT setup has been rekindled....hence trying to get this right at least this time around
