I am Planning to buy a receiver but don't know which one to opt for. I have the following four options:

1.> Onkyo Tx-nr809
2.> Denon Avr-3312ci
3.> Yamaha RX-A1010
4.> Harman Kardon Avr 3650

The HK would be the most musical and smooth sounding of the lot. That's what HK receivers excel at. It's also not as feature rich as the other options.

The Yamaha would arguably be the most detailed/neutral of all, and may sound harsh to you. A worthy option if you can live with YPAO.

For the normal Indian listening room, i.e. the typical Indian living/drawing room, with minimal or no acoustic treatments...the Denon/Onkyo would be better options with their advanced Audyssey functions.

The final decision depends upon what features you're actually going to use, and if stereo music playback is a major consideration. If the primary purpose is HT, then just toss a coin between the Denon and Onkyo.

I have the Denon 3310 and its one allround performer. For HT cinema its excellent and for stereo music playback its pretty decent too. For dedicated stereo music id suggest the HK. Else Denon and Onkyo are pretty good! Btw I also have an old Onkyo 5.1 Receiver. It still works like new after nearly 10 years!

I have denon 3312 and I am quite satisfies with music quality as well.
3312 have a pure direct mode for music where even display and other unnecessary circuits will be turned off.

You can stream music from Android, iPhone or media server on your PC. Only drawback is that you need to have wired connection to your router as system does not support WiFi.
