FMs,

I have heard few DACs like CA, rDAC and MF M1. MF M1 is good and retailing around 33k in India.

So my question is can i get a better DAC than MF M1 in US for the same amount ? Also is there any wireless streaming DAC at this budget. Marantz NA7004 is an option but DAC is much inferior to MF M1.

I have my cousin coming from US and can get it without any customs hassle.

In that budget Audioengine D2 comes in the wireless category at 600 USD. Their all products usually outperform their price range, so it will be worth checking out.

The MF M1 is most likely a bit costlier in the US (esp. considering the current exchange rate scenario). They have also priced the M1 very competitively in India. I don't think you'll get a substantially good deal, considering the possibility of customs duty issues and lack of warranty support for a US-bought DAC.

@Kirsh, you can take my M1 DAC and check, but I feel for your setup AudioGD goes very well. Contact Ravi and try to Audition it.

Audioengine D2 is cheaper in India than US considering current exchange rates and excise duty.It costs 29.9K here

Krish, you shud think of getting AudioGD DAC. It will perfectly match with your setup.

+1.
Rotel + MA combo was bright and you would probably want a smooth and bass heavy DAC.
Audio GD is the only one that had the characters when we tested that day.

I wouldn't call the Audio-GD as bass heavy but would call it smooth and controlled bass than the rest we tested the other day.
It suits speakers and amp which have little exaggerated bass and helps in reducing it.
