Hi,

I own a denon 1612 which is connected to Polk TSx series speakers in 5.0 config. Today suddenly I noticed no sound from center channel. I connected different speaker to center channel ... same result no sound. I connected center channel to other connection ... working ... so seem like the center channel output of Denon has gone faulty.

anyone else faced such problem before where any particular channel goes faulty ? any ideas of what could be the problem ?
For repairing, do I need to contact ProFx ? how many years is the warranty period ?

Tks

I connected center channel to other connection ... working ... to be read as I connected center speaker to other channel output ... speaker is working ... so problem seems to be with revceiver ....

You have done all the basic checks. Looks like a problem with the receiver. The centre channel board seems to be the problem. Looks like a visit to the service centre is due. However, before that, just reset the receiver once and see if it does the trick! With the hope that you know how to redo the settings of your receiver.

Profx would be the best, unless you know some local tech very well and he is good and competent. Usually warranty runs for 1 year.

Something which came to my mind just now, can you hear the pink noise in the centre channel while doing speaker level adjustments?

Dear all thanks for the suggestions .... I will do a reset and try to do the setup again ... to see if I get the pink noise ...

Anybody knows of a good technician in Gurgaon to work on Denon AVR ?

All is well that ends well. But do keep a watch on the AVR and make notes if this behaviour occurs again in the future. This will help you diagnose the fault more quickly.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
