Hi all,

I Brought a new Denon AVR x1000 reciever, I am using energy take5.2 speakers. I am not able to get sound from the surround speakers. I tried the following:-

1) tried swapping speakers with front channel, and confirmed speakers and wires are fine.

2) While doing audyssey setup also, I am not able to hear the testing spike noise from the surround.

3) whenever i put the mode into prologic II , i hear crackling sound, but no audio sound still.

anyone can suggest any possible solutions.

I forgot to mention :- New Denon receiver, without warranty :( .

Just wondering which servce center to approach in Chennai...

you can try power electronics from Richie street, mount Road.
i got excellent service from them. they done excellent job professionally on my sansui amp, where others failed.
highly recommended.

infact, My reciever is already in for TORVIN service, past 25 days, They arent much responsive. I tried asking update atleast 5-6 times , last update i received was they doubt some PCM1619 IC has gone bad and need to get the replacement from DENON , asking me to wait for 1 more week.

Not sure, if this IC, is the actual problem, as I only have problem with surround channels, rest all functions and front L/R , surround, SUB all working fine.

Hi Kmsinoj

Before going to the repairer, you may want to do a factory reset for the AVR, pls refer to the catalogue. Once done, do the setup everything from scratch, step by step...sometimes being excited, we tend to forget one crucial step which would fail the whole setup....check.....if all done again correctly and slowly ...still you fail...then take it for repairs....

yes, I have tried that too. holding 3rd and 4rth button and powering on, It then did the initial setup starting from LANGUAGE settings. Is there any other microprocessor reset to be done?.

I heard, one more update from this forum. keeping subwoofer nearby receiver produces crackling sound, I had placed my subwoofer and center channel speaker just next the reciever. I now doubt if that might be a reason, But in my case not only cracking sound, I am not getting even sound also from the sorround speakers.

But now, there is no other way other than believing torvin services , they say IC problem as of now.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
