My next upgrade will probably one of these two when I go to study in the US.
I want to hear some words from the experts here on what one can expect from
these two 1000$ speakers.

Lets the technical and conceptual chatter begin!

The dali ikons are not as good as what you have. The little i've heard the yamahas, they are not fun to listen to unless you like a slightly forward sounding speaker. Can get on your nerves in the long run.

I have the iKon 6 and I vouch for it's honesty in reproducing almost all frequencies (in music) really well. There is no colouration of sorts and the iKon 6's mated with my Denon AVR1910 do a pertty good job at music.
For movies, well, the iKon 6 do a FABULOUS job alongwith the HSU VTF2 MK3 and the Dali Concept center channel. I haven't heard the Yamahas you speak of, but I certainly give the iKon 6 a thumbs up.

Hi, the image you posted is not yamaha NS1000M.For your information, i am using the YAMAHA NS1000M with all kinds of amps like yamaha mx1000,sansui D11,717,Pioneer sa9800 and i found it is an excellent speakers.the berilium tweeters and mids make them wonderfull.
just listen them with suitable amps and you will be in music.once i used dali concept6 and not impressed. reg icon 6 no idea.

You were actually my inspiration regarding the ns1000.

I did a lot of research on them and everyone says theres nothing below the 1000$ mark that comes close to the NS1000m

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
