DD HD (#76) is really HD quality with 16:9 aspect ratio. Same content is available on DD National channel (#115) as well, although with sides clipped giving it a 4:3 aspect ratio. Quality difference is obvious in resolution and colors. Audio for some reason is stereo in HD and breaks frequently due to clipping.
An interesting issue - When I set DD HD channel to 16:9 aspect ratio, games telecast is seen with correct aspect ratio. However all advertisements are stretched. Same ads are seen on DD National also, although they are of correct aspect ratio. It seems ads have a 16:9 source material and have been added with black/white bars at top and bottom in DD national. Same thing was done for DD HD, which is wrong since DD HD is 16:9. Comments?
