Had been missing VU meters on my NAD 3020, so had ordered a VU meter from ebay, and had never gotten around to assembling it. Assembled it as per instructions to find a mismatch in the meters, which was taken care of through adjusting the pots
another issue was that there was no backlight - i could see a faint filament glowing inside, but not enough. A bit of googling saw conflicting information on the VU meter- some ebay listings said LED, and suggested using an resistor in series with a view to achieve 10ma. others said 8-12V 55ma.
The board i got appeared to be designed for the LED version. Tried shunting the resistors and the meters lit up!
only complaint is that they're a bit small!
