Hi folks,
Request some advice .
I am primarily a stereo listener,have a CA Azur 640 A Amp and a CA Azur 640C CD player.Also have a pair of Mission M34i Floorstanders.

I do not own a HT set up but have hooked up my stereo to my DVD player a Sony basic one and my TV.

However,of late , i have managed to get some good music on my Iphone and have the luxury of categorising it.But when i connect it to my Amp, it firstly takes more than half of the volume dial to even get a little sound, and even then, the output is not much.Guess the CA just likes its own CD player.

I also do not enjoy watching a movie with the same setup.

I reckon i should have a basic HT amp, don't want to spend more than 25k on one, this is basically to listen to my Ipod and watch movies.
What basic HT amp would you all advise me to pick up,and also do i need a sub woofer with my floorstanders.

I would appreciate any advice

cheers

i think you should check it out first before purchasing. it may be a song quality issue as well

Check the cable that you are using to connect between iphone and the amp. It may not be of that good quality.

This depends upon how you are connecting. If you are using a 3.5mm to RCA and using the headphone out, remember the volume level of the iPhone does matter. It can either sound very low on an external amplifier, or even distort if you keep it too high. Experiment with the volume levels of the iPhone after keeping the amplifier volume at a particular point. This is called input gain.

A better option would be to use a iPod dock.

Cheers
