Does Marantz manufacture speakers?

I came across this ad.

I'm not able to find any web reference for this speakers. Speakers looks new and certainly not vintage type still there is no reference.

Is it a local brand using Marantz name?

Hi,

Marantz used to make speakers.

In fact I have the very same sub which I bought from someone.
Still have it and works fine..

Other components were sold separately by that guy.

Maybe it is some super old stock sold by some Shady dealer..beware.

Yes. Certainly I don't recommend this speakers anybody. I found similar ad in expatriates site in Bahrain.

I heard Marantz FL almost 3-4 years back in Delhi, don't remember the exact expression but I guess I came out with idea that may be speakers are not their forte.

So... Yes, Marantz used to sell speakers under its brand name but I doubt that they are dealing in speakers now.

You can try contacting them, may be you can some information.... but my guess is that those are very old listings and may not be of any use now.

As I stated there is no reference from google search. Even image search refers to ad only. Any way I was just curious because from the photo esp. subwoofer seems to quality speakers.

I would recommend to stay away from such deals unless you can verify the same in person and pay on the spot.....

Yes Marantz used to make speakers and sell as packages in Asia region (Singapore / Hong Kong)...if you see the ad...the older AVRs...SR301s were bundled with it....this should be easily 7-10 years back when they were in speaker business...

If i were you, there are many speaker options...Boston Acoustics, Taga, Wharfedale, Jamo etc....based on your requirement and budget.....audition and decide...
