I've been using it and I have not faced any problem with any dvd's. It perfectly reads all DVD's of any region. One problem might be if you are copying any dvd's from your computer hardisk and trying to play, there might be a problem. Instead you can use the USB port in the BD player to play the files. For some files to play you may need to upgrade the firmware if you have not done it.

thnks buddy for the info
i played the original dvds excel india
none of them got played instead open msg from the display
i tried all my original dvds james bond collectn
all them worked on pioneer dv 300 smotthly
i heard lot of good things on this forum about lg bd 550 and got impressed to take one . vijay sales was selling at 4,990 last week

the good things were
- played mkv format big file size also
- ntfs support for ext portable hdd
- fast boot superb picture quality
but everything was disapointed in 1 st imprerssion .
i chkd for the month of manufacuture also it was 2 mnths old
so no doubt in updating the firmware the price was also dam cheap for a bd player. i was stucked up with my money with vijay sales
so cant bargain much with it no problm with money .
we r music lovers . wasted lot of money

the thing is one should get satifactory result
store people told it was a region code problm

so finnaly decide to change the piece to sony bdp 370
it played all my dvds very well
thankss for all that

bye

That is peculiar. The one I bought was more than 6 months old now. Maybe the newer one has been region coded now for DVD's also.

...but 370 supports only FAT32 not NTFS otherwise its a good player.........

There must some issue with your player. I can't believe that a player sold in India will not play DVDs sold in India. Suggest that you take it to the dealer and get it fixed/exchanged.
