DRM in streaming

DRM as in the Digital Rights Management?
If so - why would you hear that?
I was reading that the stream will not be bit perfect if DRM flags are introduced - over at Audiophile style, and a few users reported that it is audible - meaning that the streaming quality deteriorates.

This is a quote from the founder of Computer Audiophile (Audiophile Style now) in a post relating to this:
//Are you aware that streaming files can have DRM embedded, impacting the sound?
I was doing some bit perfect testing and found the music was bit perfect for the first one to two seconds then changed. DRM flags were being injected. //

Cheers,
Sid

Well - if DRM is audible then it should have been always - won't all streaming services have some sort of DRM? I believe that would be standard protocol for all things streaming.

(maybe we have the mystery of digital vs analog solved - it is those lawyers again).

In my case it was the difference between local files on my hdd (purchased/ripped from Cds) vs streaming. I always felt that the stored files sounded better, and I put it down to other issues - noise injected into the streaming file due to equipment used at the point of origin, plus all the miles of travel before it hit my router etc. etc. So maybe this is another issue, then for the difference, if it is true.
(I remember comparing a specific file which I ripped from a CD, to the same file streamed from Qobuz in the same resolution).
Cheers,
Sid

Logically if there are two identical files stored locally & on a streaming service -

In my opinion (uninformed opinion) - both should sound different (not commenting on which one is better), considering streaming service will have their own eq + the copious amount of infrastructure involved in the case of streaming.

**I am no tech expert - just contemplating. This makes sense to me theoretically. Preference of source will depend on the ears obviously.

I thought it is DRM because of which a piece of music downloaded from a particular streaming service can be played by the same streaming service. e.g. a track downloaded in Spotify cannot be played in the Apple music. DRM shouldn't touch the actual music but it is highly likely that they are re-mastered for streaming.
