Baggage Rules, 2026: the duty-free allowance for residents and tourists of Indian origin has been raised significantly. The duty-free allowance for Indian residents and tourists of Indian origin has been increased from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000, allowing travellers to bring a higher value of goods into India without paying customs duty. This change means personal items, gifts, and other permitted goods up to a total value of ₹75,000 can now be carried duty-free.
