Hi Guys,
Its been about 2 weeks since I received by Epson 6100 projector and so fat I have burnt close to 2.5 hours. Immediately I notice, lot of white "dead" cells  in the screen when the screen is dark, these dots are scattered across the screen.
Epson personnel visited by place, saw the issue, immediately confirmed that the issue was not with the projector but with my receiver. I said.. what the ....
I played the movie directly connecting my media player to Epson and still the same. He asked me to use a different HDMI cable, still the same.
Finally he called someone and confirmed back stating that I should use VGA cable to check this issue, if the issue of pixelisation does not come, it is not a problem with the projector.. wait.... im going crazy as he speaks.
i told him that I don't want to use VGA cable. please simulate this issue with another projector. so what this guy does..... takes his 1.3 megapixel camera from this mobile and starts taking photos of the dark screen.
I said enough. I asked him to leave my place immediately, I was handed over a report that mentions problem with pixelisation. issue still persists.
turns out he is from an authorized service center for EPSON that mainly takes care of printer and stuff...
As soon as he goes, I fire the service center and get a direct number of Epson service personnel and I speak to him.
Here is the main part... He says, some of recent 6100 6100e projectors have this issue and that he would take my projector to a demo room and see the issue himself and report back to HO and confirm and do the needful.
Meanwhile, as asks me to enjoy the projector and want me to use it as if nothing happened.
Amidst all this, I must admit, the projector is awesome, great color and 3D is jaw dropping.
Pros:
Lot of lumens and settings to play with.
Great 2d picture and color
Awesome 3D
handsome projector/well built
Cons:
Black is not black (as expected)
Lot of lumens could be an issue for some one (like me)
Picture not as sharp as expected (still testing various sources)
I am attaching some pictures as usual as part of initial review. All these taken from S2 in dark room.
