What are equivalent speakers? Are they a new brand?

Jokes aside, these kind of questions, if you understand Yatish, do not deserve any reply. There are so many parameters that are needed - budget?, FS/BS?, kind of music/movies you see?, what auditions have you done?, and so on.

If you are looking for just a mention of brands, there are thousands of threads that have this information.

I have mentioned this many times, but it is not a good habit to buy speakers with listening to them yourself.

Check ebay for yamaha 5.1 speaker packages ? if your budget is lil more you can even search for mission 5.1 cinema package. Or else you can find some chinese brands available for less than 6k budget ..(F&D etc).

My budget is max 20k & room size is 11X10, i want to connected Sony NS728HP, philips cassate player. I hv bravia 32' LCD.


will be using for home use for movie/music.

Reliance digital has Energy take classic 5.1 system @ 25k perfect for budget and good for both movies and music.

- wharfedale moviestar 65+ or 70+ (~20K, ~30K)
- polk audio rm series 5.1 (~17-25K)

find where these are available near your area.. demo and then decide..

Go for a well-recognised line like Wharfedale 9.1 0r 10.1.( cost ?10-15k)

Listen and buy the fronts, then add the center.
And if missing any movie experience, buy the rears.

This way you wont be blowing all your money at one go and maturing in your taste and knowledge of audio.

Room size doesn't matter , your AV Reciver has all the tweaks or setting for room size , if in Mumbai go to Leminton road ,go for PANDA or may be for TELOME or may be quite expensive, one of the best speakers "PANDAM" , they don't sell at Lemington rd, I bought 2 bookshelfs in the year 1994 , for 9k,used with Norge 2020 with yamaha CD player , now using with Yamaha 6.1 reciever as "B" speakers ( minus Sub) for music , wow 16 years!!!! Still working or you if you can,search for a decent Preowned Bose AM 5 or 7 under 25k.
