I wonder why they would need so much funds to develop a "software"?
The only major cost I feel is that of 4 developers' man hours. I may be wrong here.

If so, it will be another good alternative to VLC, especially for iOS, for flac playback.

Any thoughts on VLC ( Windows) playback quality, playing back FLAC Filoes ?

One friend thinks very highly of this software for audiophile quality playback.

indianears, I am quite happy with VLC on iOS. I use that to playback my .flac files, thru iems/headphones from hp out. I have not used with external DAC or headphone amp.

How are you storing FLAC files on your Apple device? As the iTunes does not support FLAC format I am converting the FLAC to ALAC and then thru iTunes I sync it to my iPhone 4 mobile. I want to avoid this conversion as I have a 16gb phone so every time I have to add new songs by replacing existing ones I had invariably convert to ALAC and then sync it.

Thanks for the link, but I came across a paid app called "Onkyo HF Player" which actually plays high resolution files on iOS platform and also allows the users to directly drag and drop WAV/FLAC files on the iTunes to its app. The other advantage is that this app allows you to use an external DAC via the camera connection kit and take the digital out. Pretty nice app and performs well. Do try it out on the trail version and the paid version has all the features.
