Hi guys,

I have ONKYO AMP and using it for more than 4 years and never been serviced. This AMP is serving me well for movies.AMP is working fine still.

But When i put my ears near amp i could feel small fuzz sound from AMP (not from speakers) , that's too little only. Can it be becuase of any loose connection?. I tried removing and connecting all wires still the sound is there.

Is it an issue or normal? . I thought I would service it before getiing into big issue.

Pls suggest

Fuzz like a spark between shorting wires/loose connection, or like a humming sound/noise?
If its a humming sound/noise, it could be due to transformer vibration.

Yeah..actually its a humming sound .. like we hear in the old radio. If its from transformer vibration is it normal ?

Any ONKYO owners observed this?

Transformer vibration is not normal. It could be due to the transformer falling apart, meaning gaps developing between the steel laminations, or screws holding it to the cabinet getting loose, or presence of DC offset in the AC power line.
