Guys I need a good pair of speakers 2.1 or 2 primarily for listening to audio. I know the budget is too less but still wanted to check.

It is a type of speaker where there is no closed box . The speakers are very large and give a sound signature often called as open. A speaker driver produces sound waves from front as well as back surface. In usual boxed speaker, the waves from back are not allowed to escape (completely or partially) while in open baffles, the rear waves are not controlled and disperse as well as front waves. This is close to natural sound production. . Orions (by Linkwitz), Emerald physics and Jamo R909 are well known speakers based on this principle. They are too costly for me(>1.5lacs) but the idea is attractive and the design is easiest to build. I have built speakers on same principle for about 10k using locally available drivers and I am extremely happy with the result but the speakers are huge. They are 3ft tall and 2 ft wide and i have used 12" driver on it. I hope some day I get a chance to listen to Emeralds or Jamos. If a 10k speaker sounds so well, I can't imagine how high end speakers will sound. :)

Cambridge Audio S30 ...
Never heard but told to be very good speakers.

JBL Control One - Had a small session in Crisp house. Was good. Producing good range of frequencies for the size and money!

Did you mean listening to music? Because I am yet to see a speaker playing video..:D

Jokes apart, if possible slightly increase your budget to open up a few more options other than what is suggested so far. For instance I was very happy with the Norge Millennium speakers those days.. Even it's cousin brand DNM bookshelves will be able to please you. Wharfedale 9.2 would fall within your wallet's reach when you save some more money and they sound great!

Or if you feel a little adventurous and want to go (pseudo)retro for a song(as in VFM),
Do consider either of these

I need to bring to your notice that these are more suited for relaxed near-field listening, rather than for pumping it up.

We have a FM (dealer member) from Chandigarh, namely, Amarbir who deals in Qinpu amps and speakers. I wonder if he's still active here. His website doesn't seem to be working either. Guess he's busy expanding and upgrading his biz. You can get in touch with him at 09815000133.

PS - I have no connection with (OR) anything to gain from Amarbir or from sale of his merchandise.

Please read multiple feedback received on Techenclave for Amarbir before trying to approach him.

I will, Kneo but could you tell us in brief about what its about ie if its ok. . .

In case there's risk dealing with him by way of delivery/monetary transaction mode, I am sure there would be some FM who could help Andy out by checking the stuff in detail, paying the man by cash and then shipping it to Andy. Nothing wrong with those products at all. BUT THEN AGAIN, A BLIND BUY IS DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

Forget the Qinpu option, then, on second thoughts. Anyway, it was just a thought/suggestion for going retro for cheap.:p:)

Thanks for the caution, Kneo. Hoping to hear more on this from you here.

smaller speakers relatively poor at bass front <60hz they will never go
i have auditioned S30,sounded pretty bad to me ...

Although the cabinet was well made in china

we are doing a DIY build with alpair 10 drivers , this may prove very good interms of quality in near 10k range
specially because there is no weird looks like OB , full ranger , highly praised

JBL Control One are good, but I agree, bass IS less, especially ifyou listen to rock music.
