Noted tabla players, Ustad Alla Rakha was honoured on his 95th birthday Tuesday by search giant Google with a classy doodle. The doodle depicts Ustad Alla Rakha tapping the tabla with a smile on his lips. The two Os on the Google logo are turned into a tabla.

Yes, He was a great person and artist.
Not many know that he was also a full fledged Hindi Movie song composer for decades and gave music by the name A R Qureshi. The earliest movie I can remember off hand of his is from a 1944 movie called Maa Baap in which he had given music by name Allah Rakha (the abbreviation and addition of family name happened only later). Here is a song of that movie from my collection for your enjoyment here:-

He has also composed for some Punjabi movies like Madari.
