Hi,

I have recently purchased 40" Samsung 3D HD tv. I am currently on Hathway SD digital cable which cost me Rs. 150/month. :clapping:

Hathway has still not started HD service and there customer service is also not sure when it will start. There are also not able to confirm on the what could be the approx cost of HD package.

So, I have decided to go for videocon D2h as it offer max number of HD channels and also seem to have good customer service.

I need opinion if I should wait for hathway HD package or is it worthwhile to switch over to DTH? Any idea on what could be possible hathway HD package?

Also has D2H started 5.1 sound? In case not will the existing HD box going to support it whenever they plan to introduce it?

Thanks

Would suggest you wait for the hathway rollout. They would do a full rollout as per their corporate plan in 6 months.. Once they do it will be a superior service compared to the dth providers who are constantly starved for bandwidth for providing enough number of hd channels.

I got videocon HD connection yesterday. The STB is 3D compatible. It may be useful since your TV is 3D model. However audio quality is listed as "HDD" on the box, and in the website. I don't know what this means, but a few posts in this forum mention that recently Videocon started giving 5.1 audio in some of the HD channels. I haven't checked this yet - may take a few days to confirm.

I would recommend Videocon d2h anyday. If you have any doubts, contact them on their FB page. They are very active there and will help you within a few hours!

I got the D2h HD connection (with platinum packe) installed today. However the size of the dish is not 10" as I have read and also the set top box manufacturing date is June 2012 and model number is 2011. Is it ok or should I demand for the larger dish and new set-top box?
