I own a Samsung LCD TV LA40C550 and using Hathway Set-top box for connection. I am satisfied to some extent with the PQ even though it delivers SD. But nowadays there seem to some problem occasionally with the broadcast and hence I am considering switching over to DTH like Tatasky, Dish etc Also, I have opted for yearly payment which will end this month.
I need your suggestions whether this is right time to switch over to these DTHs since my assumption is that it will have a better PQ through HDMI with 5.1 audio and few HD channels.
The Hathway guys are saying that they will introduce HD set-top box during middle of June, but still I am not confident about this because, they are dragging this from last 5 to 6 months.
After reviewing this forum, I am unable take decision because; there are some mixed reactions that have been expressed by the users of these DTH services complaining about few operators not giving the designated 5.1 audio output and issues with upscaling video as well. Few users have given the positive feedback also.
Considering all these, let me know is it worth investing into these DTH operators or to wait for Hathway HD set-top box?
If yes, suggest me a good DTH Operator who provides 5.1 audio output (which I am very particular) and good HD PQ.
