HDMI Cables for Projector and Speaker Cables

Planning to setup my own mini theatre and room size is around 14 x 20 .

So, will need HDMI of around 18 feet or so, I guess.
So, which HDMI to buy ?

Which brand and make ? Im a huge fan of Belkin. Do Belkin sell custom size ones ?

Also, Im looking for speakers cables of around 90 feet (will be divided for 4 speakers in the rear and side rear) .
So, which brand and make is good ?

Any online store, where we can order those wires ?

Upto 20 feet, I think you can manage with any cable just fine. You can look at belkin or profigold. But if you wish to be on safer side, like for 3D use, you can look at stuff like monoprice, or mediabridge or bluejeans or bluerigger or monster. Make sure they are of 26 awg and rated as high speed. Dont get enticed about specifications like 1.4. Also keep some extra length than what is needed just in case.

For going from the Projector to the receiver, I generally use a 35 feet (10 meter) HDMI cable. This allows you the flexibility of placing the equipment by the screen and still have sufficient length to run the cable to the projector and conceal the wire. ( 5 feet at the equipment rack, 10 feet up the ceiling, 15 feet across the ceiling, 5 feet at the projector)

You are only going to run this cable once- so take a look at good cable such as Audioquest

The HDMI cable length will depend upon where the source unit (BDP/AVR) and display unit (PJ/TV) are located. Let us assume the following:

• the screen is across the 14' wall and room length is 20'
• you are going to use the projector that is ceiling mounted
• projector is located 15' from the screen.
• the BDP, AVR and other source equipment are located at the screen end (just below the screen) on one corner of the room
• height of the room is 9'

Hence the length of wire required is:

• intial slack at the source = 3'
• from source to ceiling = 9'
• from ceiling to ceiling corner = 2'
• along the ceiling length at wall corner = 15'
• from ceiling (at wall end) to projector = 7'
• slack at projector end (including height of ceiling mount) = 4'

  Total = 40'

So, better to get a long one always.

I just hope, with that long HDMI cable, the quality wont be compromised for the signals transfer, as I will be watching a lot of 3D.

Also for the speakers, I was thinking to get 100 ft one bundle from Amazon. May be, its better to get around 150 ft bundle.

AFAIK, HDMI cables work well upto 50 feet. Do a wikipedia research.

Can't comment on speaker cables. HDMI 50' cable is good enough. You will have to go via iShopInternational way as Amazon will not ship directly to India. Note that 7% sales tax may be added.

Yes got the quote for those 3 items from iShop already.

All 3 for just 6400 .
Buying it from profx india would have cost around 20000 for this 3 products or may be more.

I bought 35 feet Bluerigger cable
and it works well for 3D also.

If you need 50 feet, this one should do
