After nearly a year i visited J&B Sound yesterday. Jacob, the owner, is a very dear friend of mine.

Jacob has recently taken up distributorship of Nola speakers, VeraStarr Audio, and Audio Analogue.

He had not yet set up the Nola Micro Grand Reference but he had a simple looking Audio Analogue Enigma cd player + tuner + amp, all built into one chassis connected to the Nola Boxer bookshelves. This system really sang. It drew you into the music and did more things right than many more expensive systems. The system cost about 2.25 l and it was one of the few times i felt a system was delivering way beyond its price tag.

I suggest guys looking for a mid priced system should go and hear it.

Here are the reviews to the products

Innerworld Audio - Audio Analogue Enigma REV2.0

nola boxer

You can hear the system at his shop in Bandra East. His tel no is 9820285812

Your comments and that Nola Boxer review is putting me in a fix (TT vs Speaker upgrade) :(

From the specs (90dB, 8 ohms) it looks like it does not need a whole lot of power to get loud enough in a medium-sized room. Any idea what amps pair best with them? (Other than Audio Analogue Amps). It goes down to 44Hz too!

@Prem, do you remember the price of the Boxers?

The Nola review mentions a price of 1499$.
The Tannoy Eyris speaker in the same review also looks very interesting!

Yup, the $1499 price tag is what fuelled my dilemma. The price in India is what will deepen my dilemma or set me free, heh, heh.

I'll check out the Tannoy Eyris review too!

Thanks, Prem! It looks like I have a bit of thinking to do about which way I'm going to upgrade next. I'll do a bit more reading up on the Nolas in the next few days.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
