I am planning to buy this amp . Please suggest me about the quality. My main requirement is smooth bass. I would use this with already made DIY sub and will do the towers.

I am not at all bothered about the mids.. does this amp works good? or should I go for a standard system from sony/philips

Have no clue about this or DIY.

But have been lurking around on a couple of forums abroad to look for a Burr Brown PGA 2311 volume controller kit (which incidentally is also available on eBay) and what I found is that they generally beat down on China-made kits. Apparently the PCB is thin and most of the components are fake. A few got the kits and replaced all the components and ended up paying 2 or 3 times extra for the real stuff. In some cases, the PCB were not able to survive this exercise.

If you were looking only for 2 channel audio, I would have suggested Hypex N-core. I see a lot of buzz around it and I know someone who is making one right now for his Impulse H2 speakers. Unfortunately it also costs much more than this kit.
