Hi.. Everyone,

Please help me out to come out from the confusion with Airtel HD STB

I have an Airtel HD STB and philips 3565 HTIB
My STB has optical out and HTIB has co axial input,

so please let me know how to connect the audio optical output from STB to coaxial home theatre so i can enjoy Dolby Digital audio.

Please let me know if there is any cable available for this, let me know where to buy it in India and the cost of the Cable.

Thanks in Advance....

Thanks for the valuable Suggestions,
just had a search on both the Links i Find Tosh Link (input) to Coaxial converters(output), is this fine to buy..?
and the other question is after getting the converter is it required to buy cables to connect it from toshlink to toshlink input and Coaxial Output to Coaxial Input, if needed to buy it will increase my budget by long way
do you have any other suggestions....

Other option is to dump the Airtel STB and go for one having digital coaxial out besides (or instead of) optical out.
Tatasky STBs have both.
Regards

you may also get the STB changed from airtel. Huwaei make has optical but no coaxial Kaon make has coaxial but not optical

Yes, that's the one you need to buy.

Yes, in addition to the converter, you will need to buy an Optical cable and a Coaxial cable. Optical cable to connect the STB to converter and Coaxial cable to connect the converter to philips 3565 HTIB.
These two cables would cost you another 500 bucks.
So I think with the total amount you would spend purchasing the cables & converter, you could buy another HD STB.

+1 . You'll end up spending more on the cables and finally you'll still have the little doubt if the converter performs perfectly and gives the right output. Moreover no one is sure if it works perfectly and would give the exact same signal as expected directly.

Thanks All...

I am thinking to upgrade MY HD setup Box to HD Recorder one,
does HD recorder in airtel has coaxial output,
how much it costs if i upgrade from HD to HD recorder

Hi friends,

Is there any point to consider the quality of optical cable before we buy it?

I mean do we need to buy a branded one or any chinese cheap cable would also do the same? Because i bought one optical cable which is chinese make for my airtel hd costing around Rs.250/-. I have this doubt in mind whether to buy a branded one like Belkin.

Please suggest guyz....
