Hi,

Does anyone know carpet dealers especially for home theatre room in Pune?

I looked around but couldnt find one. Please help

Note - Other locations will also do - if dealer is ready to ship it to Pune

I have not come across anyone who sells specialized carpets for Home Theatres. You should be good with the regular dealers.

I was also behind good carpet two weeks back.
You can try getting wool/jute carpet, that will be sufficient.
Thick wool carpet will be more than enough .

i doubt if there is any specific dealer for HT carpets or any specialized HT carpet makers at all.A thick carpet will do the trick...

on a side note. dont ask such queries outside.someone might actually start selling specialized HT carpets with a huge rip-off claiming better sound..

Hey... since I saw this thread I've been wondering if there was such a product!

The aim would be to reduce reflections from the floor, right?

Recently, we've seen acoustic drapes (seriously, from a serious company). Perhaps such fabric could be used as an underlay for a more decorative top mat.

I suppose there is a danger the room could become too dead.

If I had a dedicated room, and the budget, I really would love to play with stuff like this.

I used a thick wall to wall carpet for my home theatre and it does reasonably well

I guess that most of the people (including me) came here wondering if such a thing existed.

Go for a thick carpet that suits your decor, taste and budget. Don't think of it as anything more.

EDIT :
I had a telephonic conversation with a home theater installer in my city. He recommends carpets that are spill resistant, durable and do not create static.

Actually if you Google "acoustic carpet" you will find they are being sold.

Fine..I think a thick carpet with some porous medium will absorb the sound pretty well..Try for it..
