Very informative video on how vacuum tubes are made at the KR Audio factory in the Czech Republic. Every tube is hand made and involves lots of heating and is highly skilled work.

Fascinating ...as are all precision industrial procedures, especially if they include glass and quite a lot of hand work.

All that stuff about everything used to run on tubes though, thank god it doesn't any longer. Who else is old enough to remember their first transistor radio? Freedom from the mains socket, for a start, you could even take it out of the house. Now our music players are computers that fit in our pocket.

But would the making of a transistor be half as interesting? I guess not
