I am a Newbie, need some help

Hello everyone, well i wrote a big mail in this forum few minutes ago and posted it here but not able to locate it now thats why writing it again.

I am new to this forum as well to professional audio equipment.

i want to buy something decent in a budget of 20k. i am totally zero in Audio field. in last 2 days i searched a lot and with my friends help i know few things or rather names like denon, Nad, Pioneer .. all amps, & peerless drivers.

If members can suggest something good which i can buy with 20k, would be great, also if you can share some links where i can read a bit about audio systems (for a total layman)

Dear All
here are few things i would like to share, which can help you in guiding me.

1) Budget : 20k +/- 5k
2) I am going to invest further in 2 years, not before that
3) its Solely for Music 100% no movies at all
4) i would like a Stereo Set up
5) Primarily: Sufi Music (qawalies by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan), World Music(folk), Jazz
6) Room size is : length 14feet, breadth 10ft, height 9ft
7) its not a dedicated room for music
8) to begin with there are no acoustic set up, but for sure i will do the acoustics in 6-7 months.
9) i don't anything right now, i am starting to buy the equipment from zero.
10) i would prefer to upgrade the Amp later, 2 years down the line
11) i have no preference, you guys have to guide me in this field
12) i don't have access to any foreign market as of now to purchase

i hope with these details it will be easier to guide me.

Given your budget and the fact that the set-up is solely for music the only combinations I can think of are
- Norge 2060 - Re 8.5K & Any bookshelf speakers (Wharfedale, polk, even the Norge BS). I would have suggested floorstands over BS, specially since you are into music, but since your choice of music (baring Jazz) does not use many musical instruments producing low frequency therefore you can go for BS. Also floorstands (even the least expensive ones) would eat away most of your budget. For the roomsize BS would be more than enough.
- Norge 1000 is another option for amp however since you would sell the amp in 2 years, no point spending more on the amp. Rather put that money in BS.
There is no other amp (value for money) in this range. These BS would also patch-up with your HT set-up if you want to have one in furture.

"qawalies by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan" ....Ah! love them. Search the live versions of his qawalies on you tube, mostly sung in pakistan. Simply amazing!

Take a full 'read' of the Topping TP20 thread by Psychotropic (belongs to Chennai too!) in the Amplifier section. All your queries would get answered.

For dealing with the foreign market ... aka China, you just need to have a credit card.

Your entire budget would be sub 15 k .... a fantastic sounding one too, which might never require an upgrade, well, till the time something breaks down in the chain!
