hello
i have a very basic question that qoogle hasnt been able to answer to my satisfaction. could the more experienced members here please pitch in. I have a wyred4sound dac that has a I2S port. I want to know how do i connect through this?
i gather i cant just simply connect theough an hdmi cable. will i need a separate connector? do i connect this port via a cable to my source (a laptop) or the amplifier?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It is typically used for connecting a CD player or transport that has I2S output to a DAC that also supports the I2S input.

There are two competing standards for I2S connection - HDMI interface (e.g. PS Audio, Stahl-Tek transport and DAC, etc) and Ethernet interface (e.g. aqua's La Diva transport and Formula DAC). As your's is HDMI on the DAC you need a player/transport that outputs audio via HDMI I2S port.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
