Hello all,
with the resurgence of LP as source medium we are seeing lot of new LPs are coming out. Unfortunately we don't see any Bengali lp being released. I am wondering if we have enough people then we can initiate group buy for a Bengali LP. Mt personal choice would be select few songs from Tomake Chai album by Suman Chattopadhyay or we can do selection of songs from Bengali films sung by Suman, Srikanta Acharya , Shreya Ghosal , Rupankar. I don't listen to CD so don't have much idea about the latest music. Please share your ideas.
Thanks.

Is knowing Bengali a criteria?
If No, one for me as well...

Count me in... Though I generally buy used LPs (bengali included), it would be good if we can find new bengali LPs (quality recording only)...

Hi Mahiruha and all here,

This is a great initiative and count me in also.

IMHO it will be unanimously agreed if we can get a vinyl record of the songs from the film "Antaheen". Music is by Shantanu Maitra. Singers are Shreya, Babul, Srikanta, Antara and the band members of Bhumi. There's one Bhumi song also. Overall it's one of the best Bengali movie soundtrack ever. If we can really get it on vinyl with proper quality, there should not be any problem with minimum numbers of takers.

I request all interested here to give it a try from YouTube. The recording and SQ is fantastic.

Also I think besides "Tomake Chai", any Suman compilation must have songs from his album named "Ichchhe Holo" which consists songs like Bansuria, Ichchhe holo, Boyesh Amar Mukher Rekhay, Tini Briddha Holen etc. Again the Sq was surprisingly good. Performances by some leading Indian classical instrumentalists are added bonus.

Best Regards,

Bhaskar
