This is an interesting article on a social experiment conducted by the Washington Post. They asked violin virtuoso Joshua Bell to play in a nondescript Washington DC metro station, playing his 3 million dollars Stradivarius violin, belting out some of the most difficult to play violin pieces (like Bach's Chaconne from Partita No 2):

Interesting Article by Dr. Atul Gawande in The New Yorker. Covers coaching in various fields like surgery, school, sport and music.
Dr. Gawande was recently in the news for being selected to run the new nonprofit healthcare initiative being created by Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and J.P. Morgan.

Not exactly "non-music" but it is interesting enough to include here because it discusses the wartime conditions under which Hitler's favourite conductor Wilhelm Furtwangler had to work in.

"Go green" is a term everyone, from governments, corporate bodies to individuals are using nowadays. Prima facie this might seem to be an obvious choice, but are we getting carried away with the general opinion here?. Recently Arran Lomas, a British Youtuber who makes entertaining and thought provoking videos through his channel Thoughty2 ran a short video on this subject. Do have a look:
