I have a pioneer mp3 player and pioneer coaxial speakers in my car.

This has been a good system.. but still want to upgrade with new speakers.

I have been reading from the net.. Component speakers gives the best sound than coaxial since it has cross over network.

First of all will there be a huge difference in sound between component and coaxial speakers.
Can i just pair these component speakers with my pioneer mp3 player ?? or I need AMP?

Also Can you recommend me a good component speakers to pair with pioneer mp3 player.

The answer would be a Yes and No.

It depends on which coaxial you have now and which component you would like to replace it with.

Be it coaxial or component, majority of the players do not have enough juice to drive the speakers. More so in the case of component.

I had been running my 5.25" Boston components from Sony MP3 player for 2 years after which I changed to Kenwood and added a Focal AMP.

Adding a AMP does not necessarily mean it would sound better. It can sound much better and worse depending upon the tuning. I have seen the "very best" of after market shops in Hyderabad doing a horrible job in tuning. They call themselves so called experts. Anyways, just read a little about tuning and do it yourself. Learn and feel how it changes the sound from your system. I have my current system setup for more than a year now and find myself tuning a little bit once in a while.

Anyways, Pioneer players, I heard are little bit bass heavy. What would be your budget for the components and how would you like your sound to be (warm, laid back, bright etc).

Illusions (laid back), JBL (warm), Ground Zero, Focal, DLS etc are all supposed to make very good component speakers. They range anywhere between ( 5 K to 12 K or even above ).

That said, I found my components to sound better than my coaxial that I was using. I have components both in front and rear on my car.
( I had DLS, JBL, Boston coaxials earlier and switched to Focal and Boston components ).

yes it should be worth it .... but do get best out of components you will need an amplifier.

JBL/Infinity/Bull Audio

depends on your budget really

+1 to sivakuru's Point, that most head units does not have enough power to drive the Co-axials or components speakers. When driving these Co-axials or components speakers from the head units amplifier makes them to distort, when pushing the volume knob up.

when connecteed to a good power amplifier for these speakers will give you good music output with less distorted sound at some higher volume levels. You will not go wrong with component speakers as it comes with the crossover network seperately. You can really notice the sound from component speakers were better than co-axial speakers.

Mr.Mark from Craftel have installed component speakers (Blaupunkt and Infinity) in his Swift car. I listened to those speakers so many times. The sound was really good than the coaxial speakers i heard before. Audition some component speakers, the brands suggested by sivakuru before purchasing. And find a good installer to fit it in your car with good tuning for the speakers. Also go for some good imported wiring kit which has higher guage thickness for the speaker, subwoofer and amplifier. As i've known to my experience most car installers use very normal or local speaker cables.

Cheers

I like the sound to be bright and sweet. My budget is 5k to 8k.

My pioneer is 50 watts per channel... even it needs an AMP to drive componenets ?

Dont go by the numbers given by the manufacturers. Certainly you will see difference when you go for a separate AMP. Only thing is you will have to decide when. Is it VFM or can you live without it or not. You can certainly connect your components and drive with your pioneer but if you want to make best out of your speakers, it would be best to mate it with an AMP. You can take it in stages. First change to components and when you feel bored add an AMP to the setup.

In your budget, you can look at Illusion Electra, JBL GTO, Bull Audio and may be Ground Zero. I am not sure if Focal would fall into that budget, but I may be wrong.
