Hi Guys. I had earlier got my Onkyo 708 thru borderlinx.com and things turned out well.
Then bought the Dali Ikon6 and am having them shipped thru borderlinx.com, but have had a bad experience.
The price estimated by their 'Total Cost Calculator' gave me a much lower estimate. Actually they are charging 20% more than estimated. So I guess they are not as good as I had thought.
Guess one should keep in mind that the actual shipping may be 20-30% higher and still if it makes sense then only go for it.
Also they mis-quoted the invoice value of the speakers, which I had to get rectified...just get a feeling that they are misleading us with an attractive price estimate.

Did you put in the size of the package? Borderlinx, like all freight services also work on volumetric weight. I have shipped through Borderlinx numerous times. In a recent transaction with them, I felt I was charged too much...but later realised that it was because of volumetric weight. I bought 7 interconnects and 2 HDMI cables weight not more than 3 kilos in all. I was charged for 5.8kilos simply because Emotiva sent the cables to me in a big box. While taking the quote through the calculator, I usually don't fill in the size of the box. In future, I will tell seller to pack light items in the smallest possible box:).

About the mis-quoted value, that is the way the process works. They have no way of finding out the price of your product, because the seller usually does not include a copy of the invoice in the package. So Borderlinx put in a guesstimated price. You will have to email them the invoice and they correct it for you immediately.

I did face lot of issues with their customer care not responding on time but interestingly they attribute the slag to the overwhelming success of Iphone 4. It said so on their chat window.

Borderlinx + dhl in mumbai is not such a hot experience. borderlinx itself is pretty transparent (at least a hell of a lot more than vpost) but once the stuff reaches mumbai things slow down.

I just shipped 2 consignment and had identical experiences - US-Mumbai Airport transit time was the same as mumbai airport to my home ( 2 days for each leg)

while the shipments arrived in mumbai at different times (1 at 2am and the other at 4am) strangely, both shipments got "held up" in customs, more strangely, both got released from customs at exactly the same time (17.30) on 2 different days and it was shipped to their mumbai warehouse at the same time (and was delivered the next day in the evening)

my conspiracy theory? --> that DHL wait till evening so they can sent a full truck load, from the airport to the warehouse to save costs. (customer service be damned). of course it is simple to show this as "custom" delays.

I used Borderlinx for some items (non-electronic) and the shipping + other charges were humongous. For example ordering a $30 worth of item cost me $110 to ship them to India. I found shopyourworld.com much more transparent and much more competitive charges in comparison. Will try their service next time.

Their Total cost calculator uses the volume based calculation to give an estimate. They invoiced me 25% more than that, though all parameters were just the same. And their Customer support sux
