sad news indeed..
I went to one of her last concerts in Nehru centre in January this year.
Frequently interrupted by bouts of coughing, only till a phrase had you glimpse heaven.
When we think of her, we must remember that tradition must be only a base for your value systems, but must not suffocate you. She may have trained in the Jaipur gharana, but was an innovator, who most of all, remained true to herself and her art.
How sad that we will never get to hear her perform live again.
