Hi,

I'm not an audiophile so I may not have a lot of info on this which is why I was keen to know what would be better 5.1 speaker of the two I've shortlisted and if I would be suggested any other options within the price range of the 2 options I've shortlisted, that'd be great.

Option 1 (I'll post the link and hope it's not an issue as such)
Product Detail - PROFX Getting this for 1.47L. Of course, I've haven't gone in and asked for the demo or negotiated any prices as yet. Just little online research and I found this brand Polk quite popular. Yes, I'm not sure what AVR would be best for this or 2nd best option.:o

Option 2.
JBL Studio 270/290 Tower Speakers
JBL Studio 225 C Speakers
JBL Studio 210
JBL ES Studio 250 PW
HK AVR 270. Got a quote of 1.65L for the entire set including AVR.

I'd be grateful if any of you could put in a few suggestions or assist in any manner!

Thanks!:)

1.65L is a very good budget for a HT.

If the setup is only for movies, then there is a lot that can be done for your budget than the one in ProFX link.

Let us know your room dimensions.

I've tried to attach an image of it... Not sure if it was successful...

You have chosen a very good budget to start with
However before you splurge on a system, wanted to check with you if you have used HiFi equipment before
Also, whats your balance of music vs. movies ?

Your first choice, the Polk RTI, will be phenomenal for movies. But if you listen to a lot of music, you could probably look at other options.

Well, tbh, I'm quite happy with hk soundsticks also for music which is in my room... I haven't ever used any hifi systems before either so this is the first time... Balance would be 75-25, 75 for movies 25 for music... Also have the Xbox, so with it as well...

Got it
Please don't take it that I am dissuading you from it.

But I think spending that kind of money on sound you may not appreciate that much, can be .... well ... avoided

Look at these options
Home Theatre System | HT-M55 | Sony IN

https://pioneer-india.in/product/htp-rs49/

They will work well in your room and cost significantly less

On the other hand, if you are sure that you want "Hi-Fi" speakers, there are lot of threads about buying first system
I myself got a Dali Zensor 7 system and it sounds phenomenal.

BTW, you living room looks lovely..

For a budget of 1.65L and a 75% movies, i would suggest you to consider a minimum of 5.2.4 set-up which is capable of handling Atmos/Dts X.

More movies, gaming & less music, re-consider sat/sub system.. Satellite's take less space, easy to hook around than the hogging BS..

If you will be going thru Pro FX, i would suggest Denon x4200 AVR.. It is around 120K.. But assuming you can afford little more than your budget and picking speakers from them too, you can bargain hard and complete the system..

For speakers, i would suggest 2 x Polk TL 1600 speaker package..

This way, you get 10 speakers and 2 subwoofers and a great AVR... You may ask them them for an upgrade in subwoofer..

There are more options too.. Let us know what works..

Alternatively suggest you read some threads in the forum, to get hang of few HT terms..
