LPs which exemplify the essence of Indian music scene

Hey guys,

If you were to gift 2 LPs which exemplify the essence of Indian music scene, which ones would they be ? Lets try and keep the music from the eighties onwards to exclude the ones with extremely less fidelity. This is a gift for someone in Europe.

Also let me know a source.

Though this is a very subjective thing, but in the last few years, one of such albums in my opinion was Veer Zaara.
Good thing is that the LP was released with a great pressing & a great packaging which makes it a nice gift in itself. However, since choice of music is subjective, your mileage may vary! Though , you will agree that the sound quality is top notch on the LP.

This could even be a list of five LPS. I am quite keen to include many outside the move scene. Like for example, are there some really good albums from Zakhir hussain and such performers which Europeans can easily relate to.
