hi,
i just got hold of this really old AVR... got it for Rs.5500!! the guy who sold it had it paired with a 5.1 JBL with FS fronts... didnt really like the sound of the speakers... very muffled... maybe had the tweeters blown... but the centre and the surrounds were amazing...
the reason why he sold the AVR was cause he recently bought an onkyo 3300 and is very happy with it...
the AVR and the speakers were gifted to him by his brother who bought them in the US... the equipment says it is made in Korea...
my current (rather previous) setup was a pair of wharf 10.1 and norge 2060... never really wanted to get an AVR cause i mostly listen to music but the asking price of this piece was too lucrative to let go...
got this thing home... connected my speakers... (source- seagate FT+>> HDMI>> sony TV>> AVR) and i was amazed!!
i was not sure if the AVR would sound better than the stereo amp but i was wrong... the sound was controlled, the bass tighter and the vocals really came out... on my norge i had to turn the bass knob to 9'o clock position to prevent the boom but this was really really tight at flat... i think i'm gonna use this till i get a new stereo amp!
concerns- need your help guys:sad:
no manual... searched online but unable to find one
the eq settings (bass, treb, bal) on the face dont work and cant find it on the remote either
there is usually a red light that glows in the optical in but there is nothing glowing in this one... could it be broken?
the surround modes (hall, church etc..) aint working.. not that i need them but still...
