Hi,
I currently have a pair of Monitor Audio M2 bookshelves which I use for stereo listening with my Norge 2060. I had bought these in June 2011 and am still in love with the sound. I had bought these thinking that I would use these for Stereo first and then buy the M center, M4 (floor standers) to complete my 5.1/ 5.0 set up as and when the time came.
However the problem is that every few years Monitor Audio phases out their speaker ranges so now that I was thinking of expanding my set up, the M4 (floor standers) and M2s are no longer in production
I contacted Imperial Sound in Mumbai and they suggested that there are very few units of the M Center available for around 10k which I could buy.
The question is should I buy the M Center now and complete atlest the FL, FR and Center combo ? I can then club this with a pair of old Sony bookshelves to complete my 5.0 set up. I assume that rear speakers can be of a different make ?
I have no immediate plans of setting up a HT and am not so fussed about AVRs as well since once one AVR is phased out there are tonnes of others available in the market. But that is not the case with speakers.
Another option is to sell the M2s (difficult emtionally) and start from scratch with something like Wharfedale which has more stable product range or go with 4 JBL Control 1 speakers and 1 JBL Control Now (should cost around INR 25-27k). But then this need not happen in a hurry since other brands have been around for some time.

Thanks !
