I do not remember the FM's name but there is one who uses Finolex cables and is happy with them. however, I would recommend you to try the cables at hand first. if you are not happy with sound, then try something different.

When I checked about Finolex delaer, he wanted to sell the whole 200 metres and not 4-5 metres taht we usually need at home.

tell him to hang the 200 metres round his neck...i was suggested the same and thats one of the reasons that put me off!
 
Thanks to both of you for clarification.I had used CAT5 for multich analog connection from PC to AVR.It was good,but details were missing.Not tried with amplified signals.
 
Now try this for preventing crosstalk:
Buy a bunch of flat ice cream sticks. Take 2 of these. Put a drop of fevistick/super glue in the middle of one flat surface. Place it on top of the other so that they stick to each other at the middle. Separate the +ve and -ve wires from each other by inserting the wires between each end of the sticks. Do this at regular intervals.

its a little too late in the day for that- the horse has already bolted..( the wires have been clamped together with the cable ties)
 
I am also using Polycab 2.5sqmm multistrand cable for my CA S30 speakers. I cannot comment about the SQ as I havent compared it with any other, but bass is ample and treble is good too.

I got it for 18rs/m. I have bought two different colors for each terminal(total 60ft), and have twisted them together. There are planned auditions/visits/comparisons with help of FMs. But until proved wrong, I would say that this cable seems sufficient for my use. :)

had the first extended listening session today . no hum/no stray crosstalk....

the earthing cable spk wire is doing great! the vocals appear warm and bright , the mids beautiful and the bass tight and emphatic.
 
This has to be one of the most interesting things I've seen in terms of VFM.
Just too lazy to mess with my speaker cables right now but I am going to try this one day.

I'd advise you to go ahead and try it asap. i'm amazed that i used the crappy generic cable all these years!

I am planning to set up HT system in my new house, I have to select audio cable for concealed wiring right now, would you recommend that I go for solid copper for the 5.1 system that I plan to put in place.

I was looking to buy Onkyo 3400 or Denon 1312xp, But I may go for separates(If I keep reading these forums), maybe Wharfdales or similar ones, with bump up in amp model too.

So will this solid single core copper cable(1.5sq mm) still be sufficient for the high end speakers instead of the HTiB's.

The electrician was insisting to put yamo cables but I looked for them on the net but found nothing, He said all Sony showrooms :lol: are using this yamo cable. But while taking the attached picture I saw the name on sample cable, it was JAMO. He was pronouncing it right, so my bad that I did not realize, I was under the impression that he has some cut from these cable guys(which he must be having) and was pushing these expensive no name cables.

I went to the Sikandarpur Market in Gurgaon for the solid core cable but nobody had it, But I found a shop which had the .75 mm solid copper single core cable near my house, He said nowadays nobody uses it so companies have stopped manufacturing 1.5mm solid copper cable, but I insisted that he inquire in Chavdi Bazaar market in Delhi. So I'll be talking to him again.

I have put the picture of the three cable samples which my electrician procured with price tag, middle ones are JAMO and the last green one is the .75 solid copper one.

The .75mm was Rs. 8 per meter, the 1.5mm will be Rs. 13 per meter, Whereas the JAMO cables are way more expensive as seen in the picture.

Do I need to keep any other thing in mind while ordering the cable, I'll be asking for 1.5mm Solid Single Copper Earthing cable, Any gauge thing?
Any specifice brand? Finolex or Havells maybe.

Congratulations on the DIY effort, Sean. I'm sure they will sound great especially as they are solid copper core. They do look interesting though! You can probably snip off the ends to make them look less barbed wirish :-)

Okay, Got the 1.5 mm solid copper single core cable from Chandni Chowk, as these were hard to get in Gurgaon. I was in a hurry as these wires were be concealed in wall and false ceiling through a conduit. I could get any replies for my earlier post, so had to take a decision fast.
So I literally ran away in office time to get these.

Went to Chavdi bazar first(for which I must mention, the metro station is 5 stories below the ground, maybe due to archaeological reasons, awesome job), then had to go to Chandni chowk, one station away.

After searching through the dingy alleys of Chandni Chowk, I finally got the cable. I required about 70 meters in total but bought two bundles, one each in red and black, each bundle runs for 90 meters. So I have some spare, if anybody needs some:) .

Cost was 855 per bundle, so it comes to Rs. 9.5 per metre.
