:licklips:Dear all,

I am a new bie here, I was having Yamaha RX-V357 with NSP-430 Speakers. Now I want to upgrade the receiver. First I thought of going for RX-V365 then I opted out as it is not having the HDMI Audio throughput.

Then thought of going for RX-V465 and wowed to know that RX-V565 is having the Video Upscaling option and 7.1 channel. So, Now I am thinking of RX-V565. I need your advice on the following. My usage would be 100% on watching movies and HD DTH. As of now no gaming and as of now i am not upgrading the speakers (Just 5.1 speakers with 7.1 receiver and later I want to upgrade the speakers)

1. Is it worth to go for RX-V565 (In Chennai I am getting the last offer for 28k)

2. Can I get the better price in any place in Chennai or even in Bangalore.

3. Really the upscaling converts normal TV signal to 720i or 1080i

I would be delighted to see your advices.

Thank you,
Dina:licklips:

Hi.
Video upscaling will not be needed as DTH goes HD,DVDp can upscale better.
So you need HD-aud decoding AVR which 465 can do.If you need more power, then 565 may be worthy.

For tv signals, up-scalar with-in TV are good enough compared to upscaling done by these entry level upscaling AVRs.. a good DVDp up-scalar will perform better for DVDs than these AVRs... get 565 only if you need more power.. :)

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
