Need guidance in deciding a Media Player

Hi Guys,

Need your help in deciding on a Media streamer and am lost in the choices that are on offer. My primary purpose is to use it for my collection of movies & songs via USB, Laptop & Tablet . Watching contents through internet is not my priority but would prefer having it for future use. My budget is less than 10K INR.

I have narrowed down to (not in any order)
1) Sony SMP-N200
2) Roku 3
3) Xtreamer SideWinder3
4) ASUS O!Play HDP-R1


Any help towards it is appreciated.

Go with any of the Xtreamer and Asus. Both will be great choices.

WD TV is also a good option though personally I will recommend using a PC or converting an old PC into a HTPC, as it is imminently upgradable down the line.

how much amount of external storage will it be able handle. I have around 4tb of external harddisk. Want to know if the device will support them.

i would suggest go for the miracast dongle.
you dont have to wrry about the format of the downloaded movie then.
just play it in your laptop and broadcast it live on your tv.
I have one and it is fantastic. I just can play any downloaded content on my laptop in my tv.
And ther is no lag in transmisiion.
i can also browse internet on my laptop and broadcast it on my tv.
it is available on aliexpress at barely 2 to 3 k and it removes your worry about the format of the media you want to play .

I have question on mediaplayer for those who have used more than one media player.
Do the video quality through HDMI differs from player to player? The price range is so wide for the available media players, just wonder why not just pick the cheapest one that plays all the popular format?
