Need help- crackle sound ,cheer sound & loud sound

HI,
My denon 1908 is behaving abnormally.First it started with small crackle type,cheeeeer sound in one speaker ,then in both speakers. For safety reason i had switched it and tried again it has given crackle type sound from both speakers and now it sounds like that for 30 -40 second then no audio ,only video.
I am using ps3 as source ,I have tried amp only with tuner and fm is playing fine .Any input given through ps3 hdmi is causing this problem.
I have connected my ps3 directly to lcd without amp .its working fine ,means ps3 is fine ,speakers are fine in tuner mode only with amp i.e only fm on no ps3 source.
Whats wrong ?anybody has experienced this problem/any hdmi issues of amp?
plz provide solution for this.

how bout changing the cable and cleaning the end and the port ??

also did you tried a diffrent port.. might be a sharp bend in the cable.. or cable might have gone bad itself ??? what say

now that you have isolated the issue and you also stated that fm works fine..

and ps3 also works fine directly with the lcd.. then the only link between the denon and ps3 is the hdmi cable.. yes it is working correctly with the lcd. .however might a bad port of the amp itself ..

try a diff port .. also try to clean it with pressurized air..

see if that works..

hi,
I have tried changing hdmi cable, cleaned hdmi ports .but when i googled ps3 and denon 1908 crackle sound issues almost all pepole r getting this problem.nobody is having solution yet. denon 1908 gives this trouble if we use ps3 as source.even using optical out will cause same problem after sometime .
now gaming I have to use ps3 without amp.
plz provide solution

your ps3 updated to the latest firmware ???

looks like issue with firmware 3.50 and above.. lets see wht can be done... lemme find something,,

guess the only thing can be done is to disable all sound and dolby and get two channel and thats gonna work fine.. its a bug with ps3 latest firmwares that not working with cpl of avrs..

the problem lies with the ps3..

The problem is with the PS3. It should output only 2 channels when playing 2 channel content. Instead it still sends out a 7.1 signal even when the content is only 2 channel. And the PS3 should have never had this problem to begin with. Maybe one day Sony will fix it ...


so try to disable all the surround modes and force it to send stereo and you can use it with prologib mode back to get surround...

pulling the amp away from the back of the shelf a bit.. see if that can work.. its funny.. but give it a try...

m serious no joke.. try it when its off and turn on again and then see..

also mention the speakers connected are they of correct ratings and power as per the avr..

hi theironhorse,
technician told me that dvc card has gone i think its motherboard.he is telling it need to be replaced.we have tried all other methods with optical sound also.
now hope replacing dvc card may help.

its not under warrenty yaar. anyhow given for repair let us see outcome. i am using wharf 9.2 front and 9 cs center

they properly rated with correct power as per the avr.. coz sometimes.. driving spakers of incorrect rating cause this issue due to prolonged use..
