Hello Friends,
This is Mohan frm Hyd, I need help in deciding my AVR with 5.1.
I have auditioned Jamao 606 HCS and wharfedale diamond 9.5 @ AVS, lifestyle.

Heard a lot about wharfedale diamond 9.5 but the demo was not that gud!!
Jamao 606 HCS was quite gud but confused by the threads abt its cheap tweeter!

Went to couple of other stores to audition wharfedale 9.5 but no luck!!
Final quotes got from 3 Hyd stores are:
Jamao 606 HCS - 47,800
Denon 1912- 39,000
Denon 1612- 26,500
warfedale 9.5-30,500
9CS- 11500
10DFS- 12,500
SW150- 21,500

Shall i go for 606 with 1912/1612 and impact 10 SW?
or blindly go for 9.5 with 1912/1612 SW150 with out auditioning?
Can you guys pls guide me to buy my ultimate AVR+5.1.

Btw, below are few details about my requirements:
room size-16x14
Movies- 70%-30% music.
Budget- around 1Lakh.

Thanks,
Mohan. (9989275577)

I stay @Hyd and I'm not able to audition more speakers other than Jamo.

Hope ppl from Hyderabad will reply to this post with options to audition in Hyd and their suggestions.

Thanks,
Mohan.

Are you talking about profx @somajiiguda.

Hello Hyd guys,
Any stores in Hyd to audition Denon1912 with some gud floor stands for around 1Lakhs?

Thanks,
Mohan.

Hey.. There are numerous places you can audition in HYD....

  • Audio People - Jubilee hills Beside Levis Showroom
  • RSK Electronics - Babukhan Mall Somajiguda
  • Vector Audio - Nagarjuna Circle above Subway Store
  • Cinebels - Opp Care Banjara.. The building which housed the first ever Barista in the twin cities.
  • Another store in sec'bad close to Parade grounds

Also search the forums and you will land much more information. The threads have been helpful to me always.:ohyeah::rolleyes:
Also I m not sure of all of them would have Denon 1912 so if you are bet on having the same model.. go for it and carry it around for auditioning .. or first check out speakers and then go for the receiver like many wise members here did.

thanks for ur reply.. I have been to Vector@ Nagarjuna circle they only have Wharfedale Obsidian 600 for audition.
Will check other stores too to audition speakers first and then decide on AVR.

Any particular suggestion for my req?

I am just an Audioneub, but this is what I ve learnt from my experience in the last few months.

You can also check out Focal & Polk audio along with Marantz, Denon or Yamaha..I personally haven't heard much on any ONKYO recently but yeah its up to you.. rather your ear... more than any suggestion its what speaker's sound appeases you is the one you should be in search for.

In HYD we have a varied options to choose from like
Monitor Audio
Mordant Short
Polk Audio
Focal
Dali series IKON or Zonsor,
Jamo
Klipsch
Bookshelves & HTIB s are also a good choice for your room I think If you are into movies more .. but thats just me..
... and many more..

go for as many auditions as possible and then choose. :)

you have to demo Mordaunt Short Aviano 6..............would be better than the wharfs or Jamo. Denon 1912 is a good choice.

After auditioning Jamo, wharfedale, Monitor Audio, Mordaunt Short I have decided to go with MS Aviano 6+5 and Denon 1912.

Received my Denon 1912 n eagerly waiting for Avianos!!
Thanks a lot to @sasank_jack_moon for his guidance.

Now the hunt for SW begins!! my budget is 25K!! any suggestions??

Thanks,
Mohan.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
