Need help with denon 791 set up

I have connected wd media player to denon 791 thru HDMI and another Hdmi cable connects TV & AVR. I am not getting any audio or video while playing WD.But media player works well when connected to tv. Now i have connected an optical cable from wd to denon and i am getting audio but still no video .I searched the net and followed these steps ...

(3) HDMI reset procedure:

a. While the cable/sat box is on, disconnect HDMI cable from TV
b. Turn off power to the all devices (OFF, not in standby)
c. Disconnect HDMI cable from the cable/sat box to AVR at both ends
d. Wait 2 minutes
e. Reconnect all HDMI cables
f. Apply power to TV, then AVR, then cable/sat box

I got video but it was flickering constantly , so I switched off and tried again and there is not even flickering video, it is blank.I tried the same steps again but no result . Pls somebody help me.

Check the HDMI cable which is going from your AVR to Display. Either they are loose or the cable might be faulty. Also you have to assign your sources to HDMI to get both Audio and Video through HDMI under the setup menu of your AVR.

go2 wd media player setting.goto video option and c and try displayed steps on ur screen.or go through manual it will solve ur problem

UPDATE ..

I changed the video resolution to 720p 50hz in media player and now i am getting intermittent audio and video with white grains and lines . Earier when i tried HDMI reset steps i was getting good quality video even though it flickered.

Of 2 HDMI cables i have , one is amazon cable and other one is from local store which costs 400 . Is it a problem?
