Dear all respected users and members,

I am planning to buy LG 43LF540A 43 inch Led tv. Its a budget tv with big screen.I am low in budget. So planning to buy this LED TV.I'll purchase it from offline store which gave me 2 years warranty from LG and quoted 42k.Is it will be a good deal ? I have heard lots of panel issues and the technology is non repairable. So i am hesitating to buy LED tvs. Please give me suggestion.I am planning to use it only for watching movies from PC through AV Receiver means a HTPC...Need suggestion..Thanks.

you can't go wrong with LG. Flipkart has this at around 41K. So with 2 years warranty @ 42K is good. LED tvs are not as long lasting and sturdy as CRT ones, but LG models do come with humidity, voltage protection etc. so you should be good.
I was also planning initially to get an LG because of IPS and added protection, but then due to budget constraints I took a risk and went with VU instead. So far I'm liking it, but it remains to be seen if it will still work a couple of years down the line.

Why not get an extended warranty and take out the risk for your TV? any TV can go bad after 1 year, the brand does not matter in this context. Extended Warranty is definitely needed for all the TVs from all the brands.

Hi Pritam,

I have brought 43'' LF6300 model from local dealer last month. Its the same as 43LF540A but has smart tv as well. Overall the TV is good. Has good viewing angle, blacks are black while watching movies at night and has quiet good sound. (You wont get that Bass from the built in sound, but its loud enough for living rooms of medium size)
All most all movie files can be played through the USB port of TV. I too got 1 year extended warranty..which the dealer says will cover all parts including the panel. Just make sure that you are getting a brand new tv and not a display model. It can be checked in the TV Settings under General tab.

Hi

Bottom line is that shelf life for LED TVs is between 3-5 years...this is a known fact.....read over google...

The good old CRTs had a bigger shelf life (10-20) years...all depends on how much you use and how you take care of it...

If purchasing online, please ensure that the deal you are going for clearly mentioned MANUFACTURER's warranty and not seller warranty as a seller can be delisted from the portal.

Brands dont really matter as everyone is competing with each other and hence you need to decide which TV meets your requirements in terms of viewing, sound PQ and features....

GO to a Vijay Sales / Croma / E Zone / Kohinoor etc and compare TVs side by side ...view the TV from every angle and especially from the actual distance you would view it at home....this will determine if you are buying the correct size.....

Once you have decided the model and brand...check the price online and then reach out to your local dealer and try to negotiate a cash deal with warranty....

This is what i did when i purchase the Toshibha LED 32 inch TV and it has been more than 2 years now...not a single isssue....it had come with 3 years warranty....The mrp was 28k....Vijay Sales was selling at 25k and i purchased from local dealer for 21k.......

Take your time and make an informed decision...all the best

Extended warranty is no use if the service is pathetic. Having owned an LG I know that their service is good. VU on the other hand is not having any service center in my city so it's a risk if I'll get good and fast service when needed. I hope that day never comes!
