Noise from the TV when connect to Yammy 463 via HDMI

Hi,

I hear a noise (like something is shorting) from my TV when it is connected to my Yammy 463 AVR via HDMI. The speakers all sound okay but the sound comes from the TV. I tried with a couple of cables with the same result. What could be happening?

Try giving earthing to TV and AVR. Many times the plugs do not have earthing pin but there's contact given on the plug to which you can connect earthing wire from another plug point.

I heard crackling noises from my setup when the preamp internal wiring had loose contacts. Perhaps you have the same problem.

Thanx guys...the noise is coming from the TV. If it were a grounding issue, won't it affect the speakers as well? The receiver and the speakers connected do not have that problem. The TV speakers are off yet I get that sound
