Norge's new towers

mpw, at 19k isn't the price coming close to the price of entry level floorstanders from established international brands. So if it doesnt offer something special, people will always tend to drift towards the other brands.

Can someone who has listened to them comment on their performance? Say compared to the mission 34i? I was kinda interested in these after reading about them in AV Max (Looks/Size are not an issue)
Had sent a mail to Mr Shyam Bajaj but he said there is no audition possible in blore.

Agreed, if they somewhat slashed their prices and did a little pr and innovation they can literally target a large mass of indians. Hell imagine if norge replaced the price bracket with an overthetop quality product vs something like logitech z5500, thats where majority of the people buy speakers anyway. We're a very small population.

But this is all just my smartass comments, I dont know their business model anyway so best I shouldnt talk more about it :P

I think non availability for audition outside mumbai could be a bigger deal broker than aethetics.

I wanted to try these befre i bought my speakers. But no audition was possible in bangalore.

They might find more buyers if people are able to audion it.

When it comes to aesthetics, I think Norge has done a very good (safe) job at the price point !

Regular box and a neat wood veneer. That is how even some super hi-end speakers look.

What else needs to be done ? Cheap plastic embellishments and false feet ? Then the speaker will look hideous like some of them which come out of china these days !

Just auditioned them speakers today yet again @ Norge with a friend of mine, who incidentally came down from bangalore with his HK3480 amp.... Sufficient to say that he was blown away!!!:yahoo:
I could care less with the looks, as long as
1) The quality of the sound is what I want
2) Fit & Finish is good
3) They will last

Needless to say that I got satisfied on all 3 counts & that is it!!!
Another pair being readied for my friend now....

Yes, I did bring it to the notice of Mr. Bajaj about Bangalore folks not getting to audition his speakers & amps, he very clearly stated that the dealers are not interested in doing biz with him for a couple of thousands when they can make a tidy profit by selling imported stuff with more margins..... sad but true:mad:

And before anyone here gets offended by what i have written, these are my views & my taste in music is strictly metal!!!
So please do not go on the attack!!!

iaudio,

which international brands approach price point of Rs 19K in FS ? curious to know.

The Mission M34i looks just as ordinary. Many people might like their sound but so is it true for Norge as well..

Anyways.. to each his own. Cheers !!

Balajeem, Congrats. Which other speakers were in the reckoning? And what made you pick the twr125 over it?

mpw,

Floorstanders in this price range include the entry level missions, ca and as one member recently posted Klipsch entry level. I care least about whether the speaker has curves or angles. My comment was in the light of the impressions of Avmax posted in this thread. I was remarking that a Rs.19k from Norge has to sound pretty good for people to consider it over established brands.
Ofcourse, to each his own.

p.s jeevabobby of our forum had posted sometime back about stocking Norge products IIRC. What happened to that?

Instead of two woofer drivers and a two way, Mr. Bajaj could have concentrated on a 3 way by replacing one woofer with a Mid Range driver. He could have selected stores like reliance to demo/Market his products instead of big Hi-Fi Dealers.
