Onkyp 5300 or AVR+Polk 6750?

Hello,

I am new here and am looking to buy my first home theatre speaker system.

Budget: 50K
Room Size: 20X15X10h
Purpose: 90% movies, 10% music

WHich of the following would be better:

Onkyo 5300
or Onkyo AVR + Polk 6750??

Any other suggestions would be welcome too (I can stretch budget upto 60K)

With budget upto 60k I'd suggest AVR + Speaker combo.....

Either you can source the AVR from abroad for a lesser price and purchase the 5.1 speaker system here..

25 to 28k for AVR ....
30 to 32k for Speakers and Cables...

You can get decent AVRs like Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo and Pioneer under 25k if you buy from abroad.


Speaker packages you can look @ Paradigm, Elac starlet, Energy , Polks, Wharf Cinema.

also if possible try an audition of onkyo 508 and onkyo sks 728....

OK. I just audition the Harmon Kardon TS9 and Paradigm CT 70, TS9 were so-so but I was blown away by the Paradigm 70!! I have a few questions:

1. I am getting Denon 1311 + Paradigm CT 70 for 57K - is this a good deal?

2. I am not exicted about Denon 1311, but instead would prefer the Onkyo SR508. Can this combo work?

3. Is Paradigm 70 a good choice?

I am SUPER-EXCITED!!!!!!!! Awaiting your inputs!

Yes the onkyo combo works perfectly..... I think the price is lil higher..... You can get a denon 1611 with CT 70 for that price ... Try audition the Onkyo 508+Paradigm 70 and Onkyo 508+ Sks 728 package...
