definitely not lacking an understanding that people can have their individual opinion. One upgrades because of lacking something or if there is a significant improvement in their perspective which is a subjective/relative thing. what are you lacking with DVD movie watching to cause you to buy a Bluray player? DVD still allows you a good enough movie experience? in fact there are people who believe that. you have kind of contradicted one of the basic goals of this forum.
i have an 83SE which i chose over the 83 because there was significant improvement in picture compared to pioneer DV-490V DVD player and analogue sound quality compared to the 83 a couple of years ago. in the same context was curious to see if the improvement on the 95 analogue audio was significant enough, for me, to upgrade. guess if i did not have the 83SE and have to chose between it and the 93/95 i would definitely have gone for the 95.
