I am thinking of buying a Norge2060 amp. So the connections will be analog and optical and coaxial are not an option.
I know that there is no comparison between a PC without a sound card and a dedicated CDP. But people never mention the difference between a PC and a bluray player as far as Audio CDs are concerned. Getting a CDP is out of question. My question is how much difference would there be between the PC and the BDP. I was going to get a C5500 in an year or so when BDs are at par with DVDs on the price front. But if the difference is really huge, I may get it now.

A BDP is very much similar to a DVDP for music. Unless it has a good internal DAC, it is as good as useless.

Again all this depends upon what level of quality you are looking for, and what kind of medium you have the music in. For example, if you have a lot of CDs, a CDP would be the best choice. If you have a lot of FLAC or MP3 music, you should look at a PC or a media player. At the end, of course, is your budget. There were a couple of good TEAC CDPs on sale, and that may be a good option.

Cheers

Recently i am using a creative audigy 2 ZS sound card and creative megaworks 550d in my pc.
i am not at all satisfied with the sound quality for listening music. hence i have ordered for Norge 1000 and Wharfedale 9.2.

Now, as im planning for a source, should my sound card be sufficient or i should look for a different dedicated CD player or a DAC ?

Can any one suggest whether a change in motherboard and processor should change the sound quality for a PC with creative audigy 2 ZS sound card?

It will make no difference at all, as long as there is no fault with your motherboard. This is not a good reason for building a new PC.

Please listen to the output of your soundcard with your new amplifier and speakers, then you can decide if you need to ask this question. The trouble is, we get doubts like this in our minds. Leave the questions until you have spent a while just listening to the music rather than thinking about the components.

^^ I don't think there would be any difference unless you change the sound card itself.

EDIT: Missed Thad's post :)
